"Lallemand's choreography presented a richly detailed story with distinct characters. The audience was enthralled.” - Honolulu Advertiser
|
We are proud to present a night of fine music
and dance, highlighted by the first ever Big
Island appearance by Hawaii's newest ballet troupe, the
Onium Ballet Project, who will perform a new version of
the iconic American ballet, Appalachian Spring
with Copland's soul-stirring music performed by Chamber
Music Hawaii. The program also includes Prokofiev's
Overture on Hebrew Themes and Bohuslav
Martinu's humorous and charming jazz ballet, Revue
de Cuisine, which features dancing kitchen
utensils. Led by Artistic Director and gifted
choreographer Minou Lallemand, Onium brings together
some of the finest dancers in Hawaii, combining
classical ballet and contemporary movement. The company
has performed to great acclaim on Oahu and the mainland.
