The season opens with refined court dances from the 15th-19th centuries when Okinawa was an independent kingdom, and playful folk dances that became popular later. The dancers and musicians, from the prestigious Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, will take the audience on a trip through the rich history and culture of the archipelago.
