Interpreti Veneziani

Sponsors for Interpreti Veneziani are Charles and Judith Wakely.

(Excerpt from an article in 'ArtCentering)

'Interpreti Veneziani hails from that beautiful city of canals and plays with the energetic spirit of the Italian master, Antonio Vivaldi, who lived there. In fact since its founding in 1987, Interpreti has performed over 350 concerts in Venice, mostly at the St. Vidal Church where Vivaldi used to perform 300 years ago. Interpreti uses string instruments manufactured during the baroque era to accurately produce the musical sounds of that period. Both the individual talents of its members and the exuberance and high level of performance of the ensemble have earned Interpreti Veneziani an enthusiastic welcome worldwide from audiences and critics. Their Hilo concert will include works by a range of composers (including, of course, 'molto Vivaldi'). The ensemble will use an excellent harpsichord loaned to HCS by Kona resident and early music enthusiast, Garrett Webb.'

Master musicians from “the city of canals,” performing on original instruments, Interpreti Veneziani reproduces the romance and elegance of Venice. Now in its 21st season, the ensemble specializes in the music of Vivaldi and other Italian Baroque composers.
